It's amazing
#1
what one shade can do for pixel art...

#2
Agreed. Did you do this one with a tablet?
#3
Nah I was bored here at work so I just tried to see what my characters would look like if I added a little bit of shading.
#4
I honestly liked your original version better. It was more true to the style.
#5
I think it would be cool with a second shade, but maybe just for shading a little of a large object and to AA.
#6
I just don't think it makes much sense to have the background shaded and the characters not. Plus I think I can show a lot more depth with this. The main reason for me coming up with my style was thatit lightened the pixel load a great deal in the game so I could work on other things at a better pace. Now that I have my tablet though, I can knock graphics out no problem and I can make things look a lot better to compensate for that extra bit of help.

OH MY GOD !!!
They look real awesome ! Great job Kaikimi, I'm freaking inspired !

i like this much better. would you mind if i tried a couple edits?
#9
go ahead, doesn't bother me.
#10
I have to say, the sprites look great with shading, much better than before, especially the orange haired one.

er, personally I like the unshaded style.

It makes the characters stand out more, and gives the game a sort of style.
