Indie is when its original and legal, fangame is an illegal use of someone else's intellectual property.

It looks as though it has promise - but to be quite honest... I'd rather play it in 2D. It was fun, and I don't think that an the game will be as good as people might be expecting.

Also, if Nintendo pull a Squenix, then I'll piss my pants in laughter.
