I tried bringing the eyes together but it looked odd.
And I believe he looks wide because of his arm. It covers that one part of his body(which is small).

The closest foot should be at an angle close to its horizontal flip.

I dunno I think characters that are holding hammers and swords should be facing more forward so said item can be seen better.
