I think I've figured out how many new tracks versus retro tracks we'll be getting in DLC pack 2...
In the source code of the official Mario Kart TV website, I noticed something odd. If you right click on the page, select View Source, and search for "var STRINGS", you find a list of the currently available track names, accompanied by what appear to be their internal values. After sorting these names in ascending order by value, I noticed a pattern:
course16: "Mario Circuit",
course17: "Thwomp Ruins",
course18: "Toad Harbor",
course19: "Sweet Sweet Canyon",
course20: "Twisted Mansion",
course21: "Shy Guy Falls",
course22: "Bone-Dry Dunes",
course23: "Cloudtop Cruise",
course24: "Mount Wario",
course25: "Electrodrome",
course26: "Sunshine Airport",
course27: "Mario Kart Stadium",
course28: "Water Park",
course29: "Dolphin Shoals",
course30: "Bowser's Castle",
course31: "Rainbow Road",
course32: "3DS DK Jungle",
course33: "Wii Moo Moo Meadows",
course34: "N64 Royal Raceway",
course35: "N64 Toad's Turnpike",
course36: "DS Cheep Cheep Beach",
course37: "GCN Sherbet Land",
course38: "GBA Mario Circuit",
course39: "3DS Music Park",
course40: "Wii Grumble Volcano",
course41: "SNES Donut Plains 3",
course42: "GCN Dry Dry Desert",
course43: "3DS Piranha Plant Slide",
course44: "DS Tick-Tock Clock",
course45: "N64 Yoshi Valley",
course46: "DS Wario Stadium",
course47: "N64 Rainbow Road",
course49: "Mute City",
course50: "Dragon Driftway",
course51: "Hyrule Circuit",
course53: "Excitebike Arena",
course55: "Ice Ice Outpost",
course56: "GCN Yoshi Circuit",
course57: "Wii Wario's Gold Mine",
course58: "SNES Rainbow Road",
Courses 16-31 are new to this game (Nitro Courses), 32-47 are from past games (Retro Courses), and values greater than 47 are DLC tracks.
But...
...notice there are some gaps in the numbers. Courses 48, 52, and 54 are missing. Also, none of the Retro DLC tracks from Pack 1 fall between any of the Nitro DLC tracks--they all follow Ice Ice Outpost, the last new track on the list. This means the three gaps are likely the Nitro DLC tracks for Pack 2, and the five remaining tracks are Retro ones, coming after SNES Rainbow Road, and occupying values 59 through 63.
This may have already been obvious to some, but now we have proof. Also, the fact that first original track has the value 16 could mean that two more DLC packs are being planned to make use of values 00-15, or that 16 test tracks were dummied out...
