Things like clothes folds, etc.
I mean, just look at the original compared to the CS+ sprite.
At its most basic, the CS+ sprite did exactly to the original what you're trying to do with your HD sprite.

See the amount of detail that was added there? And that's still a pretty tiny sprite. You want to add even more.
For example, folds in his shirt and pants, more detailed hair, shading and folds in the scarf, etc.
The bigger the sprite, the more detail you need to add. That's the whole point.
