RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - Gors - 07-15-2015 ![]() good drawing and all but this... RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - Virt - 07-15-2015 (07-15-2015, 12:47 AM)Gors Wrote: I know it's probably completely wrong, but some website said it was an impact sound ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - Gors - 07-15-2015 I know, and you did relatively well but it's like writing "Q" with the tail pointing to the other side. It's ok not knowing japanese (no one is forced to) but I can't help but feel uneasy seeing that lol the letter you tried do do is が (ga) but the strokes are in different order. But this is just the tip of the iceberg: if you want a more insightful explanation, click on the spoiler. [spoiler=が] This letter does represent this kind of sound, so you're correct. However, the strokes are not in correct order and break at wrong places. The correct order is as follows:
"but gors that's exactly the same thing but without the 丶 and the ending hook" This is because both letters originate from the same source. All hiragana have their corresponding katakana. It's comparable to us having two different alphabets, one for UPPERCASE and another for lowercase. If you want to attain grorious nihonjin desu ne status, add a small ッ (tsu) on the end. This letter means 'sudden pause' and it's perfect for this kind of sound. Use ガッ! See "ガッ" in action here: ![]() [/spoiler] tl;dr write ガッ instead RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - Virt - 07-15-2015 Thanks, that was very informative. I guess I should consult somebody who actually knows the language before trying to use it myself, haha. I'll keep that stuff in mind the next time I do something like that. Thanks again! RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - Sketchasaurus - 07-15-2015 ![]() boid RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - SmithyGCN - 07-16-2015 Dang, your bird looks great with just paint strokes! Gabby Meets Mr. Bancroft If you can guess who Mr. Bancroft is, you get a hand shake. (Cookie is way too overused... even though, I haven't seen that expression in quite some time...) RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - Sketchasaurus - 07-16-2015 There are two Bancrofts that I know of: Tom and Tony, both of which worked as animators for Disney, who are also brothers. RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - SmithyGCN - 07-17-2015 Absolutely correct! Though it is just Tom in this one. I'm usually not this bad with drawing people, though. Gotta get back to the drawing board. RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - The KKM - 07-17-2015
