RE: Captain claw - John2k4 - 05-30-2012 Found all the level tiles, so now I have something else to map out between enemies! ![]() RE: Captain claw - Dazz - 05-31-2012 Shiggidy shiggidy s-up RE: Captain claw - John2k4 - 12-10-2012 Hopefully I can finish these once finals are over with. For now, a guide on how to extract game files (and convert the image files) in case anyone is interested. Was contacted about this game and figured I'd also post the small tutorial here.
Step 1: Begin by downloading REZExtractor 1.1 from my Dropbox (since I can't find any of the original mirrors on the web anymore) REZExtractor 1.1 Step 2: Launch the REZExtractor program. Navigate to the "CLAW.REZ" file, and select an output folder for the extracted files. ![]() Step 3: Select the files you want to extract from the archive. For the purposes of this tutorial, we will just be extracting the sprites. Check the box for "PIDs" on the left, and make sure to also select the box for "Convert PID to PNG". Otherwise you will have a bunch of proprietary image files that you can't do anything with. ![]() Step 4: Patience! The program is now extracting all of the files you requested (and converting if necessary). ![]() Step 5: Finished! Navigate to your chosen output directory, and you should now see a new folder (probably "CLAW_REZ"). Inside of this new folder will be all of the image files from the game that have been extracted and converted to PNG. ![]() ![]()
RE: Captain claw - Cyrus Annihilator - 12-11-2012 Great job here! RE: Captain claw - John2k4 - 05-12-2013 Captain Claaaaw (Level 2 done except for the level tiles, which I can't access at the moment because my flash drive is being odd.)

RE: Captain claw - Davy Jones - 05-13-2013 Could you make black vertical lines between the exploding box and the water sfx? It's a little bit difficult to see which sprite belongs to which frame. RE: Captain claw - John2k4 - 05-13-2013 Updated the sheet. RE: Captain claw - Ton - 05-13-2013 Saved! RE: Captain claw - John2k4 - 05-13-2013 Sure it takes 2.5 hours to assemble the tileset for the entire level, but that's what makes things fun!
|
